  • Kate Bowen Veterinary Services Manager

    Following graduation from Cambridge Vet School in 2007 I have worked in mixed and farm only practices involving both clinical work and TB testing. During this time I completed a post graduate diploma in Ruminant Nutrition and started work towards my RCVS Certificate in Production Animal Medicine.

    I joined XL Farmcare UK in April 2015 as Lead Auditor. I travel throughout the UK running the team of auditors and dealing with other veterinary matters.

    I farm a mixed beef and sheep farm in Mid Wales with my husband and our two young children. My other passion in life is my horses.

  • Bernat Canal Regional Lead Auditor

    I come from a rural area of Spain and qualified in Zaragoza in 2012 before moving to the UK in December 2012. I have lived and worked as an abattoir inspector and TB tester in several regions of England. Prior to this I also worked in a Zoo and an Aquarium.

    I have a particular interest in reptiles, I’ve worked with many including crocodiles and anacondas and I used to keep lizards.

    I joined XL Farmcare in July 2015 and am based in the midlands region as I currently live in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

  • Nicoleta Crisan Auditor

    I qualified from the Ion Ionescu de la Brad in Romania in 2009 and went on to complete a masters in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health. I have since worked as a veterinary assistant for both small and large animals

    My family and I moved to live in the UK in 2011. I have gained TB testing experience in Romania and the UK and whilst working as a VDP for APHA in Inverurie.

    I love travelling and enjoying the outdoors with my family. I joined XL Farmcare in July 2015 and cover the South East region from my home in London.

  • Ernesto Sayago Auditor

    Since qualifying as a vet in 2001 at Caceres, Spain I spent two years working as an official veterinarian for the Spanish government. I first came to the UK in 2002 and have worked as a veterinary enforcement officer in several abattoirs from Dumfriesshire to Somerset.

    I gained TB testing experience in Spain and whilst working in private practice in the South of England. I joined XL Farmcare in August 2015 and am based in the Wessex region.

    Basketball and live music are my passions, I also love nature, travelling and spending time with my friends and family.

  • Jose Barbe Auditor

    After graduating from the University of Zaragoza in 2009, I worked for the animal health department of the Spanish government and in the pig industry before coming to the UK in 2012.

    I have since lived in three beautiful counties; Lancashire, Yorkshire and Shropshire working in the meat industry and TB testing for XL Farmvets. I tested around 64,000 animals during this time.

    I joined XL Farmcare in September 2015 and cover the North Region from my home in Leeds. I enjoy travelling and visiting friends throughout the UK and Europe.

  • Patricia Garcia Auditor

    I graduated in 2009 from University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain) and moved to the UK shortly afterwards. I have since worked in the food industry and as an Official veterinarian in private practice.

    During this time I have also taken a career break to work in wildlife conservation in South Africa and volunteered at a wildlife rehab centre in my spare time.

    I love the outdoors and my passions are hiking and cycling as well as travelling, combining all three is bliss!

    I am based in the Midlands and joined XL Farmcare in October 2015.

  • Marta Bermejo Auditor

    I come from a farming background in Spain where I looked after pigs and sheep. After graduating as a vet in the University of Extremadura, Caceres I came to England in 2012 and worked in cattle abattoirs throughout the UK. I also volunteered as a vet in a wildlife recovery centre.

    I joined XL Farmcare in September 2015 and spent the first few months TB testing in Cornwall. I am now an auditor and am based in the Devon and Cornwall region.

    I love the outdoors and particularly enjoy trekking and canoeing.

  • Issa Robson Auditor

    I have been a dedicated farm animal vet since graduating from Edinburgh in 2008. I’ve also worked as an OV in Shropshire for 4 years, this gave me a good grounding in the realities of TB testing.

    I have been with XL Farmcare since the beginning with the role of developing the manuals and audit process. I am based in Northumberland and carry out audits throughout the North of England. I also work as a farm locum around the country.

    I am always happy to be on farm or in the lambing shed, but also enjoy snowboarding and dog walking.

  • Bernadette Davey Field Support

    I trained as a veterinary nurse in 1997 before moving into an admin role dealing predominantly with TB testing.

    My husband has a beef and arable farm in Cornwall which involves input from all of the family thus keeping me fully involved with the protocols of TB testing. 

    I enjoy doing anything outside from farming and building to walking. This also allows me to spend plenty of time with my various animals including Ki, my very spoilt Rottweiler.

    I joined XL Farmcare in May 2015. I cover the Devon & Cornwall, Wessex and South East regions as field support.

  • Danielle Hill Audit Co-ordinator

    I have worked within veterinary practices since 2008 in a variety of roles including farm animal reception, nursing and TB administration and also as an animal Health officer for APHA travelling throughout the North Wales region.

    I live and farm in Mid Wales with my husband and young daughter and enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside.  I also love travelling and particularly enjoyed volunteering within a community in the highlands of Kenya.

    I joined XL Farmcare in June 2015. My role involves liaising with practices to arrange audits throughout the XL Farmcare regions and Iechyd Da, South Wales region.

  • Kate Peake Auditor

    I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2003.  I worked as a mixed animal vet in Buxton, Derbyshire for 2 years before moving to Devon.  For the last 11 years I have worked as a farm animal vet doing both clinical work and TB testing.  During this time I also completed a Diploma in Bovine Reproduction.

    I live with my partner and young daughter on a beef and sheep farm in rural mid Devon.  In my spare time I enjoy walking my two terriers on Exmoor and Dartmoor or going out on my mountain bike.

  • Alexandra Ruiz Auditor

    I come from Santander, a town in the North coast of Spain and I qualified as a vet in 2014 at the University of Leon. I arrived to England in February of 2015 to work as a Meat Hygiene Inspector in red and white meat.
    Before coming to UK I did training at small animal practices and a safari park because I am very keen on exotic animals and wildlife conservation. 
    I became a TB tester, working for XL Farmcare in April of 2016 and covering mostly the midlands but I work in everywhere. Recently, I joined the auditor team and I was based in South of Wales.
    I love doing horse riding and walking with my dog on the beach when I go home.

  • Ruben Vines Auditor

    Originally from Valencia, Spain, where I qualified as a vet in 2014. After graduating, I was at a practice of small animals in my town. I moved to the UK in February 2015 and started working in the Food Industry as meat hygiene inspector in Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire. Afterward I joined XL Farmcare in April 2016 as a TB tester, carring out TB testing in the Midlands and in the North where I got the necessary experience to become an auditor currently based in South Wales since December 2016.
    In my spare time I am an outdoor type who enjoys hiking and a keen traveller.

  • Yolanda Auditor

    I was born in Tenerife and moved to Zaragoza (Spain) where I qualified in 2010. I then went back to the Island where I worked as a farm vet (mainly with goat herds health) as well as a Food Safety Auditor in restaurants and hotels until I moved to the UK in 2014. I then did TB testing across the Midlands for around 3 years until I joined XL Farmcare in April 2017 where I am based in Derbyshire.

    I love traveling and really enjoy hiking and discovering new corners of the Peak District with my two little dogs.
